Evansville “Rally ‘Round the Flag” 2013 Civil War Living History Event Draft Schedule Lake Leota Park, Evansville, Wisconsin

 Thursday, May 16 Noon  School Day participants may begin setting up camp

Friday, May 17 (Company K School Day 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM – By Invitation)

8:00 AM  Programs begin

11:30 AM  Lunch served, programs continue

2:30  Last student departures;   gathering for volunteers and participants

5:00  Reenactor registration begins at Local History Museum, 15 Antes Drive (at Park entrance)

7:30  Bus leaves for cemetery; reenactor registration ends for the evening

8:00  Maple Hill Cemetery Theater and Memorial Program-Public Invited

9:30  Bus returns to Park

Saturday, May 18 8:00 AM  Reenactor registration resumes at Local History Museum

9:00  Camps open to the public; road through camps closed to vehicles

9:30  Artillery demonstration

10:00  Infantry drill

10:15  1st Brigade Band Concert at Evansville Manor (lunch for Band follows)

11:00 Reenactor registration ends

1:00 PM Dedication of the restored Civil War Memorial at City Hall

2:00  Parade from City Hall to Park via North Madison Street, with the 1st Brigade Band

2:30  1st Brigade Band Concert and Historical Program at Lake Leota Park

3:30  Cavalry demonstration

5:00  Camps close to the public; road through camps reopened until 7:30

7:30  Camps reopen to the public;  Songs ‘Round the Camp Fire with Frank Medina;  Ice Cream Social (until 9:00) at the Upper Park Pavilion (ticketed; free for registered reenactors)

9:00  Camps close to the public

Note: In the event of rain, the Memorial dedication and 1st Brigade Band concert will be moved indoors to the Middle School Auditorium, 307 S. First Street (2-1/2 blocks from City Hall) from 1:00 to 2:30 PM, and bus transportation will be furnished from and to the Park.

Sunday, May 19 9:00 AM  Camps open to the public;  Church Call at Upper Park Pavilion; road through camps closed to vehicles

10:00  Cavalry demonstration

10:30  Infantry drill

11:30  Artillery demonstration

Noon  Victorian Tea and Presentation at Upper Park Pavilion, with Jessica Michna as Mary Todd Lincoln (ticketed)

2:00 PM  WRC Flag Pole 75th Anniversary rededication, with the Womans Relief Corps, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and Boy Scout Troop 514.  The National President of the WRC will be participating in the ceremony.  (In the event of rain, the rededication ceremony will be held in the Upper Park Shelter House.)

2:30  Artillery salute

3:00  Camps close to the public
