President’s report

Evansville Grove Society successfully brought another season to a close at their annual meeting on the evening of October 17th.  Board President, Donna Pyper, outlined the achievements of the past year: 15 events attended by 193 guests with 19 volunteers giving 1204 hours of their time.  A minor change to the Bylaws was then unanimously approved by the membership.
 
Three board seats were up for reelection and all three board members, Megan Kloeckner, Marcia Kremer and Jan Forsman were unanimously approved by membership to stay on the board for 2 year terms.
 
Dan Stephans, Board Vice President, gave a presentation showing the accomplishments of the year and acknowledging the work of all our award winners.  This year we had a wealth of projects receiving the Sally Hardy Eager Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation and one award for Recognition of Service.
 
The City of Evansville received two Sally Hardy Eager Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for the restoration of the historic double fireplace in Leonard Park and for their continued preservation of the Eager Free Public Library and sensitively designed addition

Sandy and John Decker received a Sally Hardy Eager Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for the adaptive reuse and preservation of the historic character of 24 E. Main, the Grove Market.
 
Jodi and Paul Saevre received a Sally Hardy Eager Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for the adaptive reuse and restoration of the historic character of 17 W. Main, Palace Meets.
 
The Staff of the Eager Free Public Library received a Recognition of Service for their ongoing support and displays promoting Evansville Grove Society’s events

Dan and Donna continued the presentation with the goals for the coming year and an invitation to enjoy the snacks and beverages before the motion to adjourn.
 
The board held a very quick meeting to elect the new officers for next year.  It was unanimously decided to keep the same slate of officers, with Donna Pyper, President, Dan Stephans, Vice President, Megan Kloeckner, Secretary and Audrey Stephans. Treasurer.
